Honma Golf has launched the new Beres 06 Series, which improves the performance of its famous and iconic Beres family of golf clubs. Aimed at the mid to low handicap golfer who seeks maximum performance, ease of play and exclusivity, the entire range of the Beres 06 Series, which includes its super class drivers, fairway woods, utilities and irons.
This launch is endorsed by the adoption of sophisticated, cutting-edge technologies that will satisfy the most demanding golfers, such as the ‘Key Groove Area’ of the metalwoods, which makes the lower section of the face more flexible; the L-Cup structure of the face/sole and the internal slits in the irons; or the new ARMRQ X shafts, lightweight and more stable at the same time, that will help the most exclusive golfers to impact their ball high and with greater ease and speed.
HONMA BERES S-06 DRIVER
The driver Beres S-06 is an ultimate premium golf club that combines the most beautiful appearance with the finest craftmanship that Honma’s master craftsmen have ever designed. Within its high technology, the ‘Key Groove Area’ is essential to its maximum performance. This is a groove on the sole just behind the face that promotes its flexion at impact and provides increased forgiveness, improves the launch angle and expands the sweet spot towards the heel and the toe.
In the new head design, the longer face, flatter sole and crown contribute to improve the driver forgiveness. It also has the centre of gravity moved back and down to improve its performance on miss shots; a new lie angle that helps to promote the draw bias trajectory; and a bigger face, which expands the effective spot area and provides greater confidence at address.
Undoubtedly, the new Beres S-06 driver design provides a great impression of forgiveness when aiming, which leads to a smooth and easy swing.
The adoption of the finest titanium materials, such as the Ti-811 of the body and the Ti-5N of the face, provides the maximum strength in a lightweight head, for an improved repulsion, while maintaining its durability.
The new ARMRQ X shaft from Honma is designed to perfectly match the S-06 driver. By using specifically selected Torayca carbon fibres, the company’s engineers have been able to reduce the weight of the shaft by 1 gram, maintaining the same soft feel and consistency, and reducing the backspin of the ball. The adoption of the X layer (10 axis cross fibre in the area of the grip and up to one hand below) is a key element for the stability and performance of this new generation of shafts.
The S-06 driver is available with 9,5º and 10,5º lofts, and ARMRQ X 47, ARMRQ X 52, and ARMRQ X 60 shafts (flex R, S-R and S).
HONMA BERES S-06 FAIRWAY WOODS
In the line of the driver, the new Beres S-06 fairway woods offer ease of launch and maximum performance. These also benefit from the ‘Key Groove Area’technology, with the groove on the sole that promotes the flexion of the face at impact to increase its forgiveness, improving the launch angle and expanding the sweet spot towards the heel and the toe.
In the new head design the centre of gravity is moved back and down to improve the performance on miss shots. In these, the effective spot zone is also expanded to enhance the forgiveness and ease when launching the ball in the air. And its new design also provides a great impression of forgiveness at address, leading to a smooth and easy swing.
They are built in SUS630 stainless steel, a really high-strength alloy that provides maximum strength in a thin and lightweight head, for improved repulsion, while maintaining its durability. The new ARMRQ X shaft is also designed to match perfectly to the Beres S-06 fairway woods.
The S-06 fairway woods are available in versions 3W (15º), 5W (18º) and 7W (21º), with ARMRQ X 47, ARMRQ X 52, and ARMRQ X 60 (flex R, S-R and S) shafts.
Like the driver, the shallower size of the clubhead inspires great confidence at address so that, combined with its low centre of gravity and a large sweet spot, it is reliable for golfers looking to hit higher balls, leading to better shots and lower scores.
Again here the Honma ARMRQ X shaft has been chosen to achieve the maximum performance in its golf club category, made with multilayered premium carbon fibre.
The E-06 for men has 2-star, 3-star and 4-star finishes for the clubhead and shaft, ranging from metallic blue to full gold; for ladies, the E-06 has 2-star, 3-star and 4-star finishes that range from deep red with pink shaft, to the totally golden version. The choice of luxury finish is in the hands of the golfer.
HONMA BERES U-06 UTILITY
It has never been as easy to launch the ball with a utility as with the Beres U-06. The back of the head has been redesigned and now is shallower, to provide a deep centre of gravity. This new position of the centre of gravity aids putting the ball in the air. In addition, the leading edge of the head makes it easier to aim the ball at the target.
They are built in SUS630 stainless steel, a really high-strength alloy that provides maximum strength in a thin and lightweight head, for an improved repulsion, while maintaining its durability. The 12 gram weight on the sole has been placed in the right position to increase the angle between the weight and the centre of gravity, and it is now much easier to catch the ball. The new ARMRQ X shaft is also designed to match perfectly to the Beres S-06 utility.
The Beres U-06 utility is available with lofts of 19º, 22º, 25º and 28º, and with ARMRQ X 47, ARMRQ X 52, and ARMRQ X 60 shafts (flex R, S-R and S).
HONMA BERES IS-06 IRONS
The new IS-06 irons are the most beautiful Beres irons in the Honma family created to date. Easy, long, with a high trajectory… the perfect performance thanks to a combination of smart technologies in a new head design that give them their premium character.
The L-Cup face structure of the one piece face/sole, with a wider sole, provides a clean, high trajectory shot and improved performance to increase the distance. Irons #4 to #8 incorporate three slits in the bottom of the sole and near the face, which increase the ball speed on miss shots. And irons #4 and #5 are redesigned with a wider sole and a bigger head, providing a deeper centre of gravity for improved forgiveness and confidence. Thus they offer ease to play like a hybrid.
This new design has a gorgeous appearance and high impact which visually distinguishes it from any other iron on the market. Its cavity provides a premium feel that meets players’ high expectations.
They are built with a forged head of mild steel alloy, to provide a soft feeling with a premium appearance. In irons #4 to #8, the L-Cup face/sole structure inserted in the body of the head is made of Maraging Stainless Steel (AM355P) for improved forgiveness and higher ball speed. Meanwhile, in irons #9 to SW, the face structure is flat, made in Maraging Stainless Steel (ES235), for improved control and durability.
